Alexander Tinei: Funny Games
Open binding with blue “veins”, chapter and paragraph numbers with reference to the Bible and a hard cover from a cardboard dressed in natural paper. That’s a catalogue of a well-known Moldavian painter Alexander Tinei. He finds inspiration in the everyday, in found photographs and their mysterious banality and randomness. Blue or purple veins are his signature handwriting and a kind of biological tattoo; what is hidden inside has come to the surface; physical matter reveals its emotion and soul. His paintings are a highly personal statement about the world around him, about the quest for God in the insignificance of life.
